Rolled outta bed EARLY this morning… 8am and made our way to radio station WNRN… Anne has been a big champion of Ashton’s music… so we were so happy to come in and see them as well as do an interview/performance.

Today Ashton played “Better Than I Know,” “Dewdrops,” “The World’s Fair,” and “Something To Say.”  A fine AM selection if i do say so myself.. Anne also played the album version of “If You Leave” on the air.

We then grabbed a quick Hardee’s breakfast and went back to bed at 11:30am… my sleep schedule is all out of whack!

We woke up at 4 and headed over to Gravity Lounge.. This honestly is one of the best live / listening rooms I have come across in my few years touring..  The vibe was great, the sound was awesome, and the staff was nice AND professional which is quite a great combo.

I struck up a conversation with Bill, the owner about music.. he happens to also be a big Billy Joel fan, and friend of Brian Vander Ark… such a small world.  We talked Billy and Elton for an hour or so..

JJ Von Briesen opened the night and brought a great crowd who was very warm and receptive and stayed all night… between us there were 50 paid thru the door… not bad for a Monday. I’m already excited to get back to Gravity Lounge… I highly recommend this venue to any true music and book enthusiasts…  I met another fellow Full Sail alum tonight… Micah Berry, the sound guy, was a fellow grad so we struck up a conversation… He’s quite a talented writer/musician in his own right.
