Jenny was feeling worse today so we did not go to the Wayne State Homecoming Game like planned.  I headed out around 1 and went to West Bloomfield High School to catch Walled Lake Central Marching Band’s competition today.

My good friend Dave Rogers has been the band director there since my sophomore year of high school in 1995 and he invited me to hang with he and the band through the day.. They had a 2nd competition in Plymouth-Canton so I tagged along and had a blast…  After their performance, Dave and I ducked out for an hour and grabbed some dinner at a nearby Bar & Grille and talked and also witnessed something incredible…

THE DETROIT TIGERS ADVANCED TO THE WORLD SERIES!

That’s right, my boys, The Detroit Tigers swept the Oakland A’s and advanced to the World Series, making them the American League Champions!  This is their first time going to the world series since 1984.. I’m way excited for this!

I headed back to the competition and hang with Dave some more and then take off around 10:30 for Milford.. I ran out to see my good friends Calling Marvin play @ the Red Dog Saloon. I hung for an hour and then headed to Highland to grab a pizza… only 2 miles from home, I decided to go back down to Madison Heights to stay with Jenny… we watched a movie… but since I didn’t get there until nearly 2am.. it was 3:30 by the time we got to bed.  It was a busy but fun day.
